Kent vineyard events in December 2026

Kent’s vineyards are busy with Christmas this month. There are carols, concerts, party nights and a staging of A Christmas Carol, and Balfour finishes the year with Christmas Day lunch and a Boxing Day tour. Sold-out events are marked. Dates and prices can change, so check with the vineyard before you go.

  • A Christmas Carol in the Great BarnChartham Vineyard · Wed 9 Dec. A staging of A Christmas Carol in the vineyard’s Great Barn, about 85 minutes long. The barn is unheated, so wrap up.
  • Christmas concert in the wineryDomaine Evremond · Fri 18 Dec. The Great Little Orchestra and soprano Susan Bullock play Christmas music in the winery, with a glass of Classic Cuvée on arrival.
  • Disgorge your own sparkling wineMereworth Wines · Mon 21 Dec and more dates. An hour with the winemaker in which you disgorge and finish your own bottle of sparkling wine to take home. It runs in the last days before Christmas, so it doubles as a present.
  • Festive estate tour and lunchGusbourne · Sun 20 Dec. A winter walk through the vines, an extended tasting that includes some rare vintages, and a three-course festive lunch with paired wines.
  • Boxing Day tour, tasting and festive platterBalfour at Hush Heath · Sat 26 Dec. A winery tour, a tutored tasting of six wines and a festive platter, for anyone who wants to get out of the house on Boxing Day.

Good to know

  • Book early. Several sessions were already full when we checked; those are marked as sold out.
  • Mereworth has free carols, choirs and live music on several December weekends, which makes an easy stop if you are passing.
  • Opening hours change over Christmas and New Year, so check the vineyard’s own website before a last-minute visit.
