A guided tour at Warehorne, a young family-run vineyard above Romney Marsh near Hamstreet, planted in 2020. The guide walks you round the vines and explains how the vineyard was set up and how the wines are made. You then taste a flight of its current still wines, which include reds from Pinot Noir and the Swiss grape Divico. It takes about an hour and a half.
You can add a cheese or charcuterie board when you book, and buy wine at the cellar door afterwards.
English red wine is still unusual, which makes this worth a visit. The cellar door opens only at weekends. It is a 10 to 15 minute walk from Ham Street station.
Best for: wine drinkers who want to try English still and red wines at a small, friendly vineyard.
Opening times, food, how to get there and a map are in our full guide to Warehorne.
